Second Grade culminated their study of the United States Constitution with a celebration of Constitution Day on Friday, September 16. Special guest speaker, Judge Bill Graves, spoke to our second graders about the importance of the document our Founding Fathers created in 1787. He emphasized how our Constitution is based on Biblical ideals and Christian morals. September 17th has been designated the official Constitution Day for our nation as it was on that day the delegates to the Constitutional Convention signed their names to officially endorse The Constitution document created by them. Second graders dressed in red, white and blue or in historical costumes of the post-Revolutionary War era. Over twenty of our Crossings’ Second Graders memorized the Preamble to the Constitution!
