On Friday, the Crossings Upper School Baseball Team played a double header on the road against Blackwell High School to start their season. Pitching was the dominant factor for the Knights on Friday night as pitchers in both games combined for a no-hitter in each game.
In the first game, Jonah M. ’21 was the winning pitcher for Crossings Christian. He lasted two innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out five. Cole M. ’19 and Mason S. ’22 entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. The base paths also were dominated by Crossings as the Knights stole 17 bases during the game and had five players steal more than one. Guy W. ’20 led the way with five.
In the second game, Tucker D. ’20 earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Crossings. He went two innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out five and walking zero. Owen C. ’21 threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
