Unique to archery, whether a student is athletic or not, tall or short, left handed or right – that student can be successful. The mission of the CCS archery program is to teach the skill of archery to students so that they can enjoy the sport for a lifetime. Archery is referred to frequently throughout the Bible; one of Jacob’s blessings to his son Joseph was “a steady bow” (Genesis 49:24). The term “sin” comes from the Greek word “hamartia”, which comes from archery. It literally means to miss the mark. At CCS, we endeavor to develop archers that are disciplined, focused and persevere through difficulties striving to hit the “bulls-eye” and not miss the mark.

But his bow remained steady, his strong arms stayed limber, because of the hand of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel
