TRACK AND FIELD

Master Schedule

One thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:13-14

Track and Field at Crossings is a great picture of the life of faith. The Apostle Paul refers to competition, running and the drive to win in scripture many times. “One thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.”

We may not win every event or even place, but our goal is for the athlete to compete in such a way as to get the prize, to work at it with all his or her heart. The coaches are determined to help prepare the competitor’s mind and body through rigorous training, so he or she can stare the challenges of life in the eye and reach down deep to give the last ounce of effort to the battle, all the while having faith that God will give them more than he or she ever asked for or imagined. Each athlete is a part of the body, or team and has a unique gift from God. All that is asked of each is to use that gift to honor God and help the team.
