Upper School Science
Head Softball Coach

Laura joined CCS in 2010 and has been teaching for 9 years; the last 4 years at Christian Heritage Academy teaching Science and coaching varsity volleyball. She has a B.S. in Management from Mid-America Christian University and an M.Ed., in Education from the University of Central Oklahoma.

Mrs. Blackburn believes the teacher is the best curriculum providing life experiences and sharing those experiences with students allowing them to anticipate future opportunities. Science allows creativity in reflecting and relating the awesomeness of God's creation and His handiwork in man's life.

The Blackburn family includes husband, David, son, Avian and daughter, Jayna (and various small pets). When not teaching, Laura loves to scrapbook, run distance races, and watch her children participate in baseball (Avian) and softball (Jayna). She is an avid football fan and loves watching any teams, but prefers the Miami Dolphins and LSU Tigers or Miami Hurricanes.
